Weigh in - Week 2

Having been stuck at work down south until 5 yesterday I didn't get back until almost 9pm last night, and after a 200 mile bike journey resulting in a very numb arse and legs I could barely feel, I made the difficult decision to skip running yesterday. I fully intend to fit an extra run in either Saturday or Sunday to make up for it, but I still feel bad for missing a day.

Hoorah for a wet arse

Woke up to find it had rained on the bike last night, so had a wet arse on the way to work this morning. I still do so can't stand up until it dries or I'll look like I've pissed myself!

OK OK I was premature...

Turns out I was offline on Sametime hence my manager didn't contact me. He just did. I got promoted. And I got a 26% payrise to go with it, which is slightly more than 'good' and even almost makes up for the inflation pay CUTS I've been getting for the last 5 years.

Hmmm

Found out at lunchtime that Neil (guy at work) and a few others have had phone-calls from their managers telling them they've had their promotions come through. I've heard nothing at all, and my manager has been online this afternoon so one of two things has happened.

First minor failure!

Morning - didn't go to the gym this morning.

So I fell asleep last night at about 8ish and woke up about half past midnight realising I hadn't eaten anything since lunchtime. I quickly cooked up a stir-fry (which was fairly terrible - one day I'll realise that I'm not a stir-fry fan) and then went back to bed with the full intention of still getting up and going to the gym.

Get your motor running

Came down to work on the bike this week. Not even sure why really. I rode it to work in Leeds and packed all my stuff on it with the intention of going straight down south from there, but then realised I'd forgotten my iPod so I ended up going home again first. Could have swapped into the car pretty easily but didn't. The journey wasn't easy - legs were almost completely numb by the time I got down and pressure sores in unmentionable places were not easy to deal with. I think I'll be buying one of those Air Hawk seats from the shop at the end of the road this week - that should help a lot I'm hoping especially when we go on tour...

Good morning...

And it actually was a pretty good morning. Having failed to gradually move my run timing to mornings over the weekend - the original plan was to do a run mid-afternoon Saturday and mid-morning Sunday to make sure I rested my legs a bit - I still managed to get up and run this morning and just got back. It was a tough one today - my legs felt like they wanted to give up almost straight away and by the final 'sprint' interval I was struggling a bit, but I got through it. I also increased the time of the initial run this morning by a minute - not much but I could tell the difference.

Day 6 - still on track...

I've managed to stick to all the rules so far and I've only actually felt genuinely hungry once all week which was last night and only because it took me a while to cook tea.

Is there anything more annoying...

...than accidentally hitting the stop button on the treadmill? Not when you're in the middle of your run there isn't! Mainly because it breaks your rhythm, but also because the guilt of having a break - through choice or not - always makes me want to do extra time at the end to make up for it.

I suppose that can be seen as a good thing really though. Ah well I was still annoyed at the time!

Weigh In - Week 1

Not a bad week considering the fact I had a relatively bad weekend and a terrible Monday really. 4lbs lost which is about a pound ahead of my target. Secretly I always hope for a little more in a first week (my record in the past has been 10lbs in my first week of Weight Watchers) but having had a bad start I think I'm satisfied with that, and it doesn't give me false hope for next week

Day 3 - Feeling OK

Well it's the morning of day 3 and I'm not feeling too bad. I've made sure to eat properly (3 meals a day) and I've done both my planned runs (just over 3k each). My legs are feeling a little bit shaky and my left knee feels a bit wobbly during the runs but all in all I'm feeling positive about it all.

Right so to business.

A lot of these posts are likely to be short and involve pictures and stats of my weight loss journey, though I'll throw in the odd life post here and there if anything interesting actually ever happens to me. I doubt it will but hey ho we'll see I guess.

Wow. 6 years since my last post.

Wow. 6 years since my last post. That's got to be some sort of Blogger record surely...
