Turns out I was offline on Sametime hence my manager didn't contact me. He just did. I got promoted. And I got a 26% payrise to go with it, which is slightly more than 'good' and even almost makes up for the inflation pay CUTS I've been getting for the last 5 years.
If I'm totally honest I reckon I'm earning about what I 'should' be earning now considering what my job is. I still think there's probably people at a lower band than me that earn more than I do, but with all my allowances for working away taken into account I really can't complain about the amount of spare cash I have swilling around - especially considering all I do to earn it is sit on my arse.
And now for the next promotion in a couple of years - better get cracking really...
